Indianapolis Oral Surgeon Embarks on Mission to Change Local Person’s Life
Did you know that more than 35 million Americans today do not have any teeth, and nearly 178 million are missing at least one tooth from decay or trauma? According to the American College of Prosthodontists, these numbers are expected to rise over the next two decades. The reality is that there are a large number of people in our community today who are suffering because they have multiple missing or decayed teeth for a variety of reasons. This can have a significant effect on their lives, jobs, social interactions, and relationships.
But help may have arrived in the form of the Indianapolis Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center “Second Chance Program!”
“I have been practicing oral surgery for more than 25 years and have seen so many patients who have unfortunately lost their teeth due to dental disease or trauma,” said Lawrence G. Falender, DDS. “Since the financial aspect of the procedure is usually the biggest barrier that keeps people from getting the work they need, I wanted to remove that hurdle and make it a possibility for the fortunate person selected. But it doesn’t just stop with me. This is really about rallying the community behind an individual to help them better their life.”
Board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Lawrence Falender, is embarking on a mission to provide a resident of Indianapolis in need with up to $50,000 worth of reconstructive oral surgery via the All-on-Four® treatment protocol. This innovative procedure, of which Dr. Falender has broad expertise, allows placement of permanent replacement teeth without major bone grafting procedures. Utilizing dental implants and a fixed prosthesis, oral rehabilitation is predictable and initial results occur on the same day as surgery.
This Second Chance Program has never been done in Indianapolis and Dr. Falender is embracing the opportunity to rally the community behind a deserving individual. Anyone living in the greater Indianapolis area who has multiple missing or decayed teeth from dental disease or trauma can apply for the opportunity to receive a complimentary All-on-Four® procedure, which provides a new set of permanent teeth that look and feel just like natural teeth.
Applicants are invited to visit www.indianapolisoralsurgery.com/secondchance to fill out a brief questionnaire about their background and health history. At the end of the application period, Dr. Falender and a panel of health professionals will select the final recipient and begin the All-on-Four® Procedure process. All candidates that meet the program criteria will be given free examinations and 3-D scans of their jaws. One person will be chosen from this pool of candidates for this year’s program.
The Second Chance Program starts with a smile, but will also provide the recipient with thousands of dollars in other services, including diet, exercise and life coaching, as needed, through the help of partners and supporters in the community.
“I couldn’t be more excited about engaging the greater Indianapolis community in our program, because it will open doors to so many other opportunities for our recipient,” said Dr. Falender. “We have already received great interest from local restorative dentists, the area’s top dental laboratory and a nationally recognized implant company, who are all eager to help.”
The Second Chance Program is a way to bring the community together and provide someone in need with opportunities to which they would not otherwise have access. For more information, visit www.indianapolisoralsurgery.com/secondchance.
